Sorry, I've been silent for a while. As you may or may not be aware I've been trying to find a new website host, and I didn't want to post new blog posts while I was doing that because it was just more work to transfer blogs posts one by one...
Anyway, to cut a long story short: I haven't got a new website host.
The end.

Shopping my goodies
After so much back and forth with my website (another story I'll cut very very short) I no longer process international orders through my website - at least for now - so if you're outside the UK please order through my lovely Etsy Shop.
Doughnut board tutorial for the June issue of "Dolls House & Miniature Scene" magazine
I posted these news on my Instagram page and on my website's home page, but just in case you missed it, I worked on a tutorial on how to make a miniature doughnut board. The tutorial includes both the easel and the doughnuts which you can do in any flavour you want of course.

My Princess Aurora "Sleeping Beauty" inspired cake earrings
I had the idea of recreating Disney Princesses' dresses in cake, and I started with my favourite one: Princess Aurora.
She was my absolute favourite as a child, and I rented the VHS tape so much, my mum ended up buying me it because it was costing her more money!
I don't know what it was about that film that I loved, but it was perfect to me and it transfixed me every time.
With my earrings I tried to recreate what I think to be the main colours of her dress/es - pink and blue - the rose and the darker seams that in my cake run along the back as strands of fondant.
Her golden hair is evoked by the vanilla sponge in contrast with the pink of her lips of the filling.
And of course, the rose on top because she was also known as Briar Rose and she was laid to sleep holding a rose.
I have sketched several other princess cakes, but I'm not sure which one I'll make next. You'll have to wait and see.
DAS Smart Clay
So about a month or so ago, I received a lot of clay from DAS Fila Smart including the Pastel Collection, the Harmony and the Primary Colors Collection, and I tried out some of my favourite colours to sculpt a simple Greek inspired window.
Colours I used:
- Geranium Pink
- White
- Aquamarine
- Beige
- Warm Yellow
- Cobalt Blue
- Scarlet Red
- Lilac
- Orange
As I was adding the green my fingers had green on them, so I unknowingly transferred colour into the white - bottom corners especially - but I loved the result, so I purposefully did it with the pink. It was like shading/painting with polymer clay.
I love the Geranium Pink colour, and in general, I liked how well and strong the clay baked.
Fondant Rose Cake Earrings
Some simple but sweet little cake earrings I made with muted blue fondant and fondant-like rosettes.
Black Forest Cake Earrings
Early to say if I'll stick to this design - I like to change and find new combinations! - but I love how these came out. They're so creamy looking!
